Our family, your apartment

We only have one apartment. So we look after it properly.

The Prism is not a portfolio, a management company or a set of keys in a drawer. It is one flat in the middle of Tirana, run by one family, and every single thing in it was chosen by somebody who has actually slept here.

The neon prism on the living-room wall is the reason for the name. We put it up because we liked it, and then guests started sending us photographs of themselves under it, and by then it was too late — it had become the whole idea. White light goes in; everything comes out in colour. It is a reasonable description of what a good trip does to you.

What that means in practice is small and unglamorous. The Wi-Fi actually works. There is coffee waiting. The kitchen has the pan you need at eleven at night. If something breaks we come and fix it ourselves, usually within the hour, because we live around the corner. And if you message us at two in the morning from the airport, somebody will answer.

Welcome. Make yourself at home — the Gruja family

What you get

Everything you need, nothing you have to think about.

One bedroom + sofa bed

A proper double in its own room, and a big corner sofa that opens out for two more.

Fast, free Wi-Fi

Reliable enough to work from. The password is in your arrival note.

Private parking

Right where you come out of the tunnel, on both sides of the street.

Fully equipped kitchen

Hob, fridge, kettle, pots and pans — everything for a real breakfast.

Air conditioning

In the bedroom and the living room. Tirana in July needs it.

Smart TV + streaming

Sign into your own Netflix, YouTube or Spotify and make yourself at home.

Self check-in, any hour

A lockbox by the door. Late flight, 3am bus — the key is always there.

Building security

Full-day security on the door and a quiet, residential courtyard.

The apartment

Have a look around.

One bedroom, an open living room with a sofa that becomes a second bed, a full kitchen, and a quiet courtyard entrance one street back from the boulevard.

And then the city

You did not come to Tirana to sit indoors.

Almost everything worth seeing is within twenty minutes on foot of the front door. We have written down what we actually recommend — where we eat, what is worth your morning, the walk we do ourselves, and where to go when you want to leave the city for a day.

A taste of it

Three we would send you to first.

Mrizi i Zanave® — Buk e gjath

Albanian · walk-up

The Tirana counter from the family behind the famous agriturism up north. Nothing to book and no menu to study: you queue, pay at the counter, and get a sandwich of meat and melted cheese made from their own farm's produce, then eat it in the courtyard. There is usually a line at lunch. It is worth it.

The Crown

Fine dining · rooftop

Widely called the best fine dining in Albania, on the third and fourth floors of a hundred-year-old building. The rooftop is French in spirit and has the whole city underneath it. This is where you go for the evening you will still be talking about at home.

Tunel Music Venue

Club · live music

Our nearest real night out, and the one every guide gets wrong: Tunel is on Rruga Ludovik Shllaku, about four hundred metres from our door — not out in Blloku. Local and visiting DJs, techno through to pop depending on the night, and a terrace upstairs if you need to hear yourself think.

Booking direct is the cheapest way to stay — no platform fee on top — and it means you are talking to the family who owns the place from the very first message. If you would rather book through a platform you already trust, both listings are below and we will look after you exactly the same.
